Shira Seri Levi is an illustrator and animation director from Jerusalem, based in Brooklyn, New York.
Her work explores language, migration, and belonging through drawing and motion. She combines hand-drawn illustrations with the logic of design systems, adapting to editorial, narrative, and digital contexts such as augmented reality and user interfaces.
Her illustrations have appeared in The New Yorker, Vox Media, and other publications. Her motion direction for Vox Media’s podcast videos earned the 2025 Webby Award, and her zine Rough Translation was recognized by the World Illustration Awards for independent publishing. She is a graduate of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, where she later taught Motion Design and Art Direction at the Tisch School of the Arts.
